Although we did not have formal funeral services, the staff took special care handling my mother’s cremation and working with officials at Arlington Cemetery for her final resting place. They never hesitated to meet with us at a moment’s notice to answer our many questions. Heritage Funeral Home brought comfort and kindness throughout the entire process. To say a final good-bye to a loved one, especially your mother, is never easy. We were extremely grateful to John Saville and the staff for their kindess and support.

In the fog of grief I failed to think about leaving a review for the kind, professional services we received during the worst days of our lives from Heritage Funeral Services. It was April 2020. Covid-19 was preventing all funerals. It was surreal not being able to have family members and friends surrounding us. John Saville understood how difficult this was for us. He was so gentle and kind. He helped us plan our son's graveside service. He made sure there would be an adequate sound system for us to play a very special song that meant so much to our son when he was going through multiple brain surgeries several years ago. He encouraged me to make the service as personal as I could. My husband and I were in a blur that day. John kept counting heads. He told us he stopped counting at 150. He knew that it would mean so much to us to know so many people had come dispite Covid. He's still more than willing to help us as we are finalizing a headstone. I designed something special that will be shipped soon. John stepped up, to my great relief, to allow it to be shipped directly to Heritage. He offered to get a crew together to set the headstone and promised to supervise personally to make sure it is not scratched. Helping us with this last piece of burying our boy, 20 months later, words can't describe our gratitude. John Saville is going above and beyond for us. Truly, Heritage offers very personal and thoughtful help during life's most painful times.

My sweet Rheanna was 9 years old and passed away on June 2, 2019. I called the funeral home before she was taken off life support to make sure after she donated her organs she wouldn’t have to go to the morgue in the hospital. The owner John assured me he would go as soon as he got the call. Rheanna was taken right from the hospital to the funeral home. I can’t tell you how much that ment to me. Heritage funeral home was there for me in the worst time of my whole life . They encouraged me to rest and they took things one day at a time with me. They even made these beautiful obituary memories for me. I have no complaints. I feel indebted to them. Thank you Heritage. Rhea Guckiean #mermaidsoul

Dealing with the passing of a loved one is extremely hard. My beloved mother Maryann Murphy passed on 03/01/16. A proud Veteran of our armed services and nurse... When it happens too you, your never completely prepared for the loss. It is a complete shock. That said, the staff and people at Heritage Funeral Home were very supportive and caring. The kindness and follow up that the staff displayed during and after the ceremony were very much appreciated. On behalf of the Murphy Family I wanted to say thank you again.

After only using one funeral home in my family, we had an extremely distressing experience with a prepaid funeral for my brother when both parties had to call lawyers. This was not our idea of compassion and comfort. Unfortunately, when I lost another family member, I was in the position of having to decide on a different funeral home. I so dreaded this encounter because I was trusting a loved one to a different funeral service. All of my prayers were answered when Glenn Harvey met me in my home. He was the epitome of professionalism and sincere compassion. He guided me through one of the most difficult times in my life by making everything straight forward and professional. Mr. Harvey delivered and picked up numerous items to make things easier for me. He thought of absolutely everything, and he will forever have a special place in my heart and memory for assisting me in planning the service I desired. He was flexible when at the last moment we had singers instead of taped music. Everyone in the family was impressed by his eagerness to make things as easy as possible in such a dire situation. As soon as I am further along in my grief and heartbreak, I will definitely make an appointment with Mr. Harvey to preplan my own arrangements. I have nothing but sincere appreciation for the treatment and services I received from Heritage Funeral Services. I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone.

After services of my mother, father, sister and three good friends in the last few years, I have nothing to say but great things about Heritage Funeral Service. John Saville, Joe Reed, Richard Pulley, April Epps and all the staff were incredibly sensitive and most helpful. They covered every aspect of the services in exemplary fashion. My father and L.A. Tyree were good friends for many years. And also we have been life-long friends with Billy Saville. They could not have done a better job. It is hard to put into words how we feel about the whole organization. Their heartfelt attention will always be cherished by the entire Shields family.

My beloved father passed away on 4.03.14 & he had previously made the arrangements that he wanted, which was a tremendous burden lifted off our shoulders. I'm very glad that he chose Heritage Funeral Home; they were so caring and helpful, they made things easier for us in this sorrowful time. One year after he passed, we received a lovely card from Heritage saying that they were thinking of us, and that meant a lot. Thank you to Heritage Funeral Home for all your help and your kind words and actions. We sincerely appreciate all that you did for us. From the Family of Harold C. Thornburg (Mr. T.)
